Members of the Canfield High School Swim and Dive team hosted its annual Pancake Breakfast Jan. 12.
The breakfast, which was offered in the Canfield High School cafeteria, raised funds which are used to support the team in various ways.
“The money raised here today goes to support the swim and dive program. We use it for a variety of things the team members and coaches might need,” said Cheryl Brady, co-chair of the breakfast with Lisa DiDomenico.
The breakfast included pancakes, eggs, sausage, coffee, milk and orange juice, with team members, from freshmen to seniors, taking shifts bussing tables, selling 50/50 raffle tickets and making sure everyone in the large crowd had enough to eat. Take out breakfasts were also available.
Swim and Dive Team Booster Club parents organized the event and took over the kitchen to cook the breakfast.
“We would like to thank the community for their support. Our kids are hard workers and what makes this breakfast really nice is that the swimmers’ families come and support us all. We would also like to give a special thank you to the Canfield High School cafeteria staff for their assistance. They have been phenomenal,” said Brady.
The Canfield High School Swim and Dive team is coached by Andrea Linnelli, with Ron Navarra serving as dive coach. The team’s meets take place at Youngstown State University.
