Students at Canfield’s elementary schools, C.H. Campbell Elementary School and Hilltop Elementary School, started celebrating the holiday season early at the annual holiday classroom parties Dec. 21.
On the last day of school before the holiday break began, students enjoyed a party in their classrooms, coordinated by PTO volunteers, during which students played games, made crafts and enjoyed a snack of Christmas cookies.
To celebrate the holidays, the children participated in such special holiday-themed games as a snowball toss, pin the carrot nose on the snowman, snowball relay race and Christmas darts during their parties.
On the creative side, the children also made holiday crafts, including clothespin Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer ornaments, foam Santa Claus and snowman on skis ornaments, Christmas tree ornaments out of popsicle sticks and holiday wreaths out of paper plates and bows, which were all sent home with the students to add to their holiday d cor
Many students, teachers, staff and PTO volunteers joined in the early celebration and wore their holiday best, including Santa hats, reindeer antler headbands and holiday-themed clothes and jewelry.
