Coming off last season’s 23-7 record, the Canfield boys cross country team has a lot to live up to this fall.

Returning lettermen are senior Andy Russo, juniors Rollin Bresson, Tyler Kennedy, Alec Kennedy, Timmy Fernstrim, Richie Abel, Gary Zamary, Alex Nischwitz, and sophomores Kyle Anderson, Bryan Kristian and Rajan Solanki.

Freshman Chase Kern will have to be in top form to compete for a starting spot, but coach Doug Weitzman doesn’t foresee a problem.

“In my six years at Canfield, this is by far the hardest-working group I have ever had. My projected top seven runners are Kern, Bresson, the Kennedy brothers, Kristian, Solanki and Russo.” he said.

Weitzman said the league title race is looking to be a battle between Canfield, Howland and Fitch.
