Fourth-grade students at C.H. Campbell Elementary School, who are going to be moving on to middle school this fall, got a big send-off during the school’s Field Day at Fair Park May 31.
The students were treated to a picnic lunch by the PTO and enjoyed time playing games and utilizing the playground. Some students played volleyball, bag toss, dodge ball, kickball and threw around a giant Frisbee, while others climbed the monkey bars, played on the pirate ship and tried to see how high they could go on the swings.
Several PTO parent volunteers helped out with the lunch and on the playground.
“This is a day for the fourth-graders to have some fun. This is their last hurrah as C.H. Campbell students,” said Travis Lavery, C.H. Campbell principal.
