Ohio Naturopathic Wellness Center, led by Dr. Ted Suzelis, N.D., is teaming up with Mahoning Valley businesses to sponsor the inaugural charity 5K Run/2 Mile Walk Aug. 11 to benefit Make A Wish.
The event will take place at the Mill Creek Metroparks Bikeway - Kirk Road Trailhead at 6700 Kirk Road, in Canfield, Ohio.
The event co-sponsors include Fitness with JoAnne (Boardman and New Middletown, Ohio), Healthy Treasures Health Food Store (Newton Falls, Ohio), Massage Cafe (Canfield, Ohio), The Vindicator, Arbonne (Sandra Barger, Boardman, Ohio) and New Hope Imaging (Boardman and Kent, Ohio).
This year’s event proceeds will go toward the Make A Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Registration for the event will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the first event starting at 8:30 a.m. The pre-registration fee for the 5K and 2 mile walk is $15 and includes a race T-shirt. Race day registration is $20 (t-shirt not guaranteed).
The Kid’s Fun Run for children ages 4 through 13 is free or $10 to receive a T-shirt.
Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female runner in the 5K event and there will be a Chinese auction.
