Easter Bunny visits Boardman Park

The Easter bunny hopped into town for a two-night stay at Boardman Park on April 4 and 5, and local Easter enthusiasts from Austintown, Boardman, Canfield, and Poland stopped in to say hello.

Boardman Park’s Lariccia Family Community Center was decorated in spring-friendly pastel colors that complimented the fancy Easter dresses and ensembles worn by guests.

The event included a wealth of fun crafts that made no messes near any new outfits. The activities included a “Happy Easter” sign, card, treat bag and sticker scene, as well as stamping activities and a Easter bear paper doll.

“The stickers were my favorite craft. It was fun to make an Easter scene,” said Austintown native Marissa Conroy.

Amy Anos and her daughter, Annmarie Anos, who hail from Boardman, enjoyed the evening with the Easter bunny for the first time on April 5.

“It’s our first time visiting this event and she really loves the holiday. Boardman Park always does so many wonderful events for the kids, and the price is right,” said Amy Anos.

After meeting and taking a photo with the Easter bunny, guests enjoyed a meal of macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets, veggies and a few sweet treats.

The evening offered families the chance to enjoy time together in preparation for the coming holiday.

Canfield’s Melinda Brock attended the event with her daughter, Shauna Hudland, and granddaughter, Addison Weeks.

“Easter is definitely a family activity for us. We color eggs, go to church and eat dinner together. The kids hide and re-hide eggs all day and really entertain themselves. For us, this is a fun preparation for Sunday,” Brock explained.
